The Samaritans of Exeter Mid & East Devon are organising an
exhibition of sculptures, 'good grief, bald statements', by Jean
Parker. These illustrate her feelings of grief and loss and her
emotions during her diagnosis and treatment for cancer.
Jean touches on a range of emotions which will be familiar to
anyone viewing the exhibition. For Jean they emerged from a
period of illness and medical treatment, but they could just as
easily be prompted by bereavement, a broken relationship or any
form of loss.
The exhibition is running from 18-31st July at St.Martin's
church, Cathedral Green, Exeter from Friday 18 July until Thursday
31 July.
Admission is free of charge. St. Martin’s Church is at the
corner of Cathedral Green and Ship Lane.
The Lord Mayor, Ben Bradshawe (our local MP and the Minister of
Health) and other local MPs and Councillors are making an
official visit to the exhibition on the morning of July 24th.
