Samaritans thought balloon release
The Samaritans of Northumbria will kick start their
celebrations for 24/7 on Sunday 11th July with the arrival of the
Samaritans Smart Car.
35 Samaritans thought balloons will be released to celebrate
the 35th anniversary of their branch. Each balloon will
contain volunteering information and an uplifting thought for the
person who finds it.
A volunteer from the branch will drive the car on the next leg
of its journey to Selkirk. A 72 mile journey along which further
thought balloons will be released to reach out to the
community.
Volunteers will also be hosting a coffee morning at Morpeth Town
Hall on Saturday 24th July. There will be table top stalls selling
various goods, a bottle tombola, face painting and the opportunity
to find out more about the service and volunteering opportunities
available.
