About Samaritans
Samaritans volunteers listen to millions of people in
need of emotional support around the UK and Ireland, giving them
the time and space to explore their feelings and options. Never
judging. Always confidential. 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Samaritans believes that offering people the opportunity to be
listened to in confidence, and accepted without prejudice, can
alleviate despair and suicidal feelings. If you would like to talk
to a Samaritans volunteer, you can contact them by phone or
email.
Founded in 1953, Samaritans has been working for over 50 years
to provide free telephone, email, letter and face to face to anyone
that needs us, via our network of 202 branches. We receive no
government sponsorship; all our funding is through donations.
